Meet the Team – Abbi

Name: Abbi Pearson – Hockings

Position: Head of Waste

Start date: 29th August 2017

Why did you choose this background for your photo?

The background photo I have chosen is of me riding through the stubble fields. My mind always wanders while we explore the countryside and the overwhelming feeling of freedom is always so empowering. The combination of adventure, exhilaration and deep relaxation is the recipe for releasing stress or worries into the wind as it passes. I simply love it.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Flame UK?

The thing I enjoy most about my job is that it is always changing, always evolving, and I get front row seats watching the process of simple ideas grow into great innovations. Every day is different, and it is a daily adventure for the whole team. Here at Flame UK, each individual is valued, the atmosphere is open, and the culture is a delight to be a part of every day.

What is one of the best things you have experienced in your life?

My best experience in life so far has been moving into my own house and gaining my own independence.

If you could invite 3 celebrities over for dinner (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Anthony Joshua because he looks like he has a great personality.

Oprah Winfrey because throughout her life, the odds have been against her, yet today she is one of the most wealthy and successful businesswomen in the world.

David Attenborough because his outlook on the world has been valued by so many people for such a long time. His contributions to the environment and creating worldwide awareness are so inspiring. He is also thought to be one of the most travelled people in the world, and I would enjoy hearing about his experiences and achievements.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

An Equine vet.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

I would be a Beaver because they are creative, practical and well-organized.

What is your favourite movie?

My go-to film is Pretty Woman; it is easy viewing and is just a classic.
