Barton Town Going Green Thanks to Help from Flame UK

Barton Town Football Club are taking steps to be more considerate of the environment, the first of those steps is to have designated recycling bins placed around the Easy Buy Stadium.

These bins are made specifically to separate general waste from recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics etc. The club sought the help of Flame UK for these bins. Flame UK is one of the UK’s leading independent waste management companies, and a proud sponsor of the club. The bins are located around the stadium and mean supporters can also do their bit by recycling their waste properly.

The club is committed to doing its part for the environment, and with the help of forward-thinking companies such as Flame UK, we are confident we can reduce the amount of waste and increase the amount of recycling the club generates on matchdays.

Club Chairman Mark Gregory commented: “These bins are the first step in our journey to be greener, and to think more about the environment. Recycling is important, as a club we want to be doing the right things for the world and thanks to the help of Flame UK, we can take this pivotal first step. It may seem a small step, but it’s putting us in the right direction. We have some big plans in the pipeline, ideas in which we can reduce our carbon footprint and ensure as a club that we are more eco-friendly. We see what Football League clubs such as Forest Green are doing in being more environmentally-friendly, and see that as the blueprint we need to aspire to. I’d like to personally thank Flame UK for their help and guidance. They’ve been nothing but helpful and they are a valued sponsor of the club and we really appreciate their support.”

Dan Pegram, Director of Flame UK, said: “Flame UK are delighted that we are able to support Barton Town Football Club with their efforts towards being more sustainable.  As a business we have ourselves made steps to become carbon neutral, and supporting our customers in their own journey to become more environmentally-friendly is a large part of our company ethos.  We were more than happy to provide the additional recycling bins to help the club increase the amount that gets recycled.   Flame UK wish the Club the best both in their recycling and for the rest of the season!”
