What metals can be recycled?

Any materials that are at least 50% metal can be recycled with your scrap metal recycling. This can include anything from aluminium drinks cans to household appliances and heavy machinery.

How is scrap metal recycled?

Once collected, scrap metal is sorted at a Waste Transfer Station to determine the quality. It’s then melted into smaller pieces and melted down. The molten metal is purified using electrolysis. The purified metal is cooled down, causing it to solidify. The solid metal can then be used to make a brand-new product.
