The Museum of Vintage Waste

The Archeoplastica Project

Did you know that plastic waste makes up 80% of debris found in the ocean? The Archeoplastica Project is looking to change this.

The campaign, started by Enzo Suma, exhibits vintage plastic waste such as old toys and cleaning products that have washed up on beaches - with the aim of raising awareness about how imperishable and polluting plastic can be.

Enzo Suma has been collecting plastics from beaches for many years. His project began when a photo he posted of an old sun cream bottle got a big reaction from his followers - drawing attention to the issue of plastic pollution in our oceans. From this, The Archeoplastica Project was created and now consists of more than 200 photos of artefacts dating back as early as the 1960's.

SECTOR FOCUS

Focus on scrap metal

How is scrap metal recycled?

What is scrap metal? Scrap metal refers to metal products that you can no longer use or anything that has broken that is made mostly or completely from metal. It is generated by a number of different businesses and industries, but is often mishandled

Most scrap metal can be recycled through a process of sorting, shredding, melting and then purifying the material. Once it solidifies it is ready to be reused and has a never-ending lifecycle.
